Description
Silicon carbide is used in abrasives, in polishing and grinding. It is widely applied in applications calling for high endurance, such as automobile brakes, car clutches and ceramic plates in bulletproof vests. Electronic applications of silicon carbide are as light emitting diodes and sensors. It is utilized for the production of fertile, transgenic maize plants. Silicon carbide whiskers and zirconium diboride ceramic. It compositely plays an important role in the crack-healing behavior.
