Invitrogen™ SLAM (SLAMF1) Human ELISA Kit
Sandwich ELISA Kit
Brand: Invitrogen™ EHSLAMF1
Description
The Human SLAM (SLAMF1) ELISA quantitates Hu SLAM in human serum, plasma, or cell culture medium. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant Hu SLAM. Principle of the method The Human SLAM solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the addition of the second (detector) antibody, a substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce measurable signal. The intensity of this signal is directly proportional to the concentration of target present in the original specimen. Rigorous validation Each manufactured lot of this ELISA kit is quality tested for criteria such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, and lot-to-lot consistency. See manual for more information on validation.
CD150 (SLAM, Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule) belongs to the immunoglobulin gene superfamily, and is involved in T cell stimulation. SLAM is constitutively expressed on peripheral blood memory T cells, T cell clones, immature thymocytes, and a proportion of B cells, and is rapidly induced on naive T cells after activation. Activated B cells express the membrane bound form, the soluble form and the cytoplasmic isoforms of SLAM. It is suggested that signalling through homophilic SLAM-SLAM binding during B to B and B to T cell interactions enhances the expansion and differentiation of activated B cells. Reports suggest that the extracellular domain of CD150 is the receptor for the measles virus and acts as a co-activator on T cells and B cells. Moreover, CD150 is thought to interact with SH2D1A and with PTPN11 via its cytoplasmic domain. Mutations CD150 gene may be associated with X-linked lympho-proliferative disease (XLP).Specifications
