The Class II PI3 kinases, including PIK3C2A, phosphorylate the 3 position of PI or PI4P. Though not as well studied as the Class I PI3 kinases, the Class II enyzmes have been linked to diverse, recpetor-mediated cellular processes including insulin signalling, neuronal survival, and growth factor signalling.

• Assays: PIK3C2A (PI3K-C2 alpha) was diluted in assay buffer and the activity determined in a 10μL Adapta™ assay (PV5099) with 10μM ATP and 100μM PI lipid kinase substrate (PV5371) at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction was stopped with a 5μL addition of EDTA and detection reagents. The final concentrations are 10mM EDTA, 2nM Adapta™ Eu-anti-ADP antibody and 4nM Alexa Fluor™ 647 ADP Tracer. The plate was read after a 45 min. room temperature incubation
