Description

Description

The ChargeSwitch™ Total RNA Cell Kit is ideal for the purification of up to 25μg of total RNA from up to 1 x 106 cultured mammalian cells or from 1mL overnight bacterial culture, including full-length RNA and small molecular weight RNA species. This kit offers a unique aqueous-based method for purifying total RNA from cultured mammalian or bacterial cells resulting in exceptionally clean and pure RNA with high integrity. ChargeSwitch technology eliminates the use of common enzymatic inhibitors such as phenol, chaotropic salts or ethanol, resulting in exceptionally clean RNA. Due to its unique format, this kit also performs exceptionally well at concentrations useful for greater sensitivity in downstream analyses, yielding faster scientific results. The ChargeSwitch technology format is scalable and is a highly-sensitive RNA extraction method for successful downstream applications, including gene expression studies, promoter studies, siRNA, gene regulation, transcriptional analysis, RT-PCR, and qRT-PCR. This unique format also allows flexibility for application in high-throughput automation.

  • Effectively captures up to 25μg of total RNA from up to 1 x 106 cultured mammalian cells or 1mL bacterial culture
  • Purifies a wide range of transcripts including increasingly important small RNAs (smaller than 200 nucleotides)
  • Provides the ability to purify greater yields of RNA from very small sample sizes
  • Eliminates use of common enzymatic inhibitors providing exceptionally clean RNA
  • Results in improved sensitivity in downstream analyses
  • Allows flexibility for high-throughput applications
  • Automated protocols, high-throughput compatible
How ChargeSwitch Technology Works:
Based on a patented switchable chemistry, ChargeSwitch purification utilizes the charge on a solid surface for nucleic acid capture. At lower pH, the surface chemistry holds a positive charge attracting RNA. At higher pH, the surface chemistry is neutral, thereby releasing any attraction to bound RNA. 50 preps.
